BHP150 Georgian Diamonds & Garnet Jewel - A very early piece of jewelry, made in the late 1700's - early 1800's. Swirling ribbons of various widths make a very complicated design. Teeny mine-cut Diamonds are shallow set here and there on the piece (3 are missing but hard to spot). It was missing a center stone when I found it and I had my jeweler set a square shaped red Garnet cabochon stone. Looks like it could have been original to the piece - only missing all the cuts and scrapes that an old stone would have suffered. It's 6 x 4mm. The Gold is very bright and tests 18 Kt., thought it could be even a higher Karat. Wear it as a brooch, with a newer roller-ball clasp soldered on. The bail is the original style, a pointed piece of the Gold, folded over and secured - ready to slip a small chain through. 1 1/2" wide, it's 1 /2" long - the bottom pendant is a separate piece, so it dangles and is set with a Diamond. Jewelry this old is worthy of being treasured. Price: $650.00 Order
